THE ARTISTS

Ween

Ween

Ween was an American experimental rock band. They formed in 1984 in New Hope, Pennsylvania when central members Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween) met in an eighth grade typing class. Ween has a large cult underground fanbase[citation needed] despite being less known in American pop music. The band's style is eclectic, and while they could generally be referred to as rock music, one of their defining tendencies has been experimentation with various styles incorporating a strong element of humor and absurdity. Both Gene and Dean are skilled multi-instrumentalists who overdubbed various instruments on their recordings, though they also record with the regular touring band.

Peasant

Peasant

Peasant is the work of Damien DeRose, an American songwriter, singer, and producer, born on September 23, 1985. DeRose sings of the hopes and fears associated with life and love like a more optimistic version of Elliott Smith. Along with Spin Magazine, Daytrotter, CMJ and others, NPR raves, “when armed with a guitar, DeRose makes music that beckons and calls out, as if demanding to be heard. DeRose also has a secret weapon: a voice that seems to expose his very soul.” Magnet Magazine adds “DeRose’s vocals float above acoustic guitar melodies, evoking the lyrical eloquence and delicate arrangements.

Jack Adaptor is Fatboy Slim meets Beck in an eclectic mish-mash if trip hop goodness; a band that truly deserve the title "un-pigeon-hole-able". Through layers of heavy metal-esque guitars, soulful, multi-tracked vocals and studio wizardry, this is a journey into the musical unknown.
